Non-Equilibrium Biological Physics

Description:
This self-study is aimed to deepen the participant’s understanding of theoretical concepts and tools used in theoretical biophysics, that is the physical modelling of biological processes on the cellular and tissue level. The main focus of this year will be active matter and non-equilibrium statistical physics motivated by biological examples. Students are expected to study on their own the agreed-upon textbook chapters – using as well recent extensive reviews of the field of active matter - and discuss them weekly within their group and bi-weekly together with the Instructor.
