Description: 
The Physics Track Core Course will have the following format. Each week, a group of two students will prepare and give two lectures on a seminal topic in physical sciences. The material to prepare these lectures will be drawn from original papers, not from textbooks. The purpose of the lectures is to introduce classmates not only to the science, but also to the history, which we are all a part of. In addition to the lectures, the student team will prepare a homework problem to be demonstrated and discussed in the recitation period. This format is designed with three goals in mind: (1) to engender a sense of community among the physics cohort across our diverse disciplines, (2) to learn the basic concepts and history of seminal topics in the last 100 years of physical science research, and (3) to improve soft skills, including paper hunting/ reading, giving presentations, and asking questions.
