Description: 
The course covers the history of both fields, which is intertwined. From the earliest papers leading up to present day results will be analyzed and the challenges of the fields will be addressed. Molecular and cellular systems will be discussed. The class focuses on the basic science aspects of and not on the more engineering ones.
